Donate to CODE

The primary objective of CODE is to support a network of partner organizations in developing counties to design, deliver and evaluate quality literacy programs. An important component of our program is the work of volunteers who work in country to strengthen the skills of educators especially primary school teachers and librarians. One current program is the Burt Literacy Awards program which is a literacy prize that recognizes excellence in young adult fiction in Africa, the Caribbean, and Canada's First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities. The latter is the only charitable activity carried on in Canada and totalled $190,394 for 2018 - 2019.
